Do you fondly remember the Westside Independent with a little tear in your eye? Well, guess what? The editor of that brilliant website has a new project: the West Side Rag just launched this week!
It will have aggregated UWS news events, but mostly it will be a forum for the voices of those who actually live here–to tell stories, share anecdotes, and give you the unofficial version of things. Also, there should be a fair amount of silliness involved.
The founder of West Side Rag gathered some of the most talented writers on the Upper West Side to be columnists and contributors. (Oh, and he asked me to do it, too. So I’ll be writing about pretty much the same inane things you see here.) All interests are covered, from dogs to food to real estate. I’m excited to be a part of it and hope you’ll check in daily.
Please forgive a few technical glitches as the site gets up and running, and email this news to all your UWS friends. And your Upper East Side friends, too. They’ll be so jealous.
